In the past, the Youth Declaration document has been formally received by a number of distinguished guests, including our Governor General, the Honourable Anand Satyanand, who has then passed the document onto Cabinet. It has also been formally received by numerous Members of Parliament, and has contributed to the shaping of policies regarding children and youths through agencies such as the Office of the Children's Commissioner.
This year's Youth Declaration will be held on May 1st - 2nd at the University of Auckland.

If you enjoy working with young people, meeting great minds, and discussing topics that are important to you, then join us as a Youth Declaration facilitator! Youth Declaration is a conference for students from years 11 to 13 at school (15 – 18 years old), where they compose a Youth Declaration document. This document outlines their beliefs and opinions on critical issues both specific to young people and beyond. It aims to enable young people to voice their own opinions and concerns regarding contemporary issues, while at the same time learning to understand and appreciate opposing points of view. For more information and to download your Facilitators Information Pack and Application Form, head over to the Youth Declaration 2010 event page. Applications close Saturday, March 13th.
