UNYANZ AucklandThe Auckland Region is the oldest of the currently existing UNYANZ regions. It has won the Cutfield Gavel (for the Most Successful Reigon) numerous times. We run a number of events throughout the year for both secondary and University students as well as facilitating overseas delegations to Conferences.

Nuclear Awareness Survey - Wednesday, 10 March 2010

UNYANZ, along with Soka Gakkai International and the Peace Foundation are conducting a survey on the awareness of NZ University students on nuclear issues.

A report will be compiled from the results of this survey, and will be presented to the United Nations at the Non-Proliferation Treaty review meeting in May. This will join results from similar surveys taking place in the US, UK, Brazil, South Africa, the Philippines, South Korea, and Japan.

The survey takes two minutes. So if you are a university student make sure you head to www.nukeaware.com to take part.

 

Central North Island Model United Nations 2010 - Monday, 8 March 2010
CNIMUN is being held in the Japanese Lecture Theatre at Massey University at 9.30 am on the 31st March. It will bring together students from Palmerston North, New Plymouth, the Hawkes Bay, Wanganui and the Wairarapa for a day of debating issues such as climate change and issues of human security.

Registration is $15 which includes catering for the day. Registrations for this event close on the 15th March and registration forms can be downloaded from the Wellington page along with more information about the conference. read more ...

Auckland High School Model United Nations 2010 - Sunday, 7 March 2010

Calling all Delegates and Chairs from Auckland!

Registrations for the Auckland High Schools Model United Nations 2010 are now open.

A-MUN is the largest regional Model United Nations in New Zealand, drawing like-minded intelligent High School students from across the Auckland Region for two days of lobbying, debating, voting and networking. A-MUN represents a massive opportunity for you and your High School to stand up and show how you can handle the pressure of International Diplomacy.

Youth Declaration 2010 Delegates Registrations now open! - Monday, 22 February 2010

In the past, the Youth Declaration document has been formally received by a number of distinguished guests, including our Governor General, the Honourable Anand Satyanand, who has then passed the document onto Cabinet. It has also been formally received by numerous Members of Parliament, and has contributed to the shaping of policies regarding children and youths through agencies such as the Office of the Children's Commissioner.

This year's Youth Declaration will be held on May 1st - 2nd at the University of Auckland.
